Through a series of highly interactive workshops, you will explore the skills educators need to climb an institution’s promotion ladder and succeed in a career in academic medicine. You will learn strategies to:

This highly interactive and hands-on skills building session will equip the modern educator with tools to be an A+ teacher in 2023. This session will provide you up-to-date techniques to improve your teaching effectiveness in the classroom and at the bedside. You will learn:

Simulation-based medical education is a standard component of all medical education these days. This highly interactive track will provide with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become simulation educator at your institution. Whether you are new to simulation, run small low-fidelity sessions, or lead a state-of-the-art simulation center, this track will give you skills to use simulation in novel ways to enhance the learning experience for all. No prior experience with simulation-based medical education is necessary. You will learn:
- Strategies to utilize simulation based medical education in any learning situation (not just a simulation center)
- Definitions of augmented and extended reality and how you can incorporate these tools into your simulation teaching
- Practical tips to create the perfect simulation cases
- Best practices for using simulation to assess learners of all levels

Digital education—self-directed learning in virtual settings such as podcasts, streaming videos, or social media—is now the dominant form of medical education for medical students, residents, and continuing medical education. Creating, curating, and critically appraising digital resources is an essential skill for medical educators in the 21st century. This hands-on interactive track will provide a practical introduction for educators of all levels. No prior experience with digital education is necessary. In this track you will learn:
- How digital education can enhance your educational mission
- Fundamental principles of crafting educational tweets, tweetorials, and Twitter chats
- Best practices for engaging in teaching and networking on social media
- Skills to create podcasts, infographics, visual abstracts, and whiteboard animations
